十年生死兩茫茫，不思量，自難忘。

千里孤墳，無處話淒涼。

縱使相逢應不識，塵滿面，鬢如霜。

夜來幽夢忽還鄉。小軒窗，正梳妝。

相顧無言，惟有淚千行。

料得年年腸斷處：明月夜，短松岡。

這是一首悼亡詞。作者結合自己十年來政治生涯中的不幸遭遇和無限感慨，形象地反映出對亡妻永難忘懷的真摯情感和深沉的憶念。

作者寫此詞時正在密州（今山東諸城）任知州，妻子王弗在宋英宗治平二年（1065）死於開封。到此時（熙寧八年）為止，前後已整整十年之久了。詞前小序明確指出本篇的題旨是“記夢”。然而，夢中的景象只在詞的下片短暫出現，在全篇中並未居主導地位。作者之所以能進入“幽夢”之鄉，並且能以詞來“記夢”。完全是作者對亡妻朝思暮念、長期不能忘懷所導致的必然結果。所以開篇使點出了“十年生死兩茫茫”這一悲慘的現實。這裏寫的是漫長歲月中的個人悲涼身世。生，指作者；死，指亡妻。這說明，生者與死者兩方面都在長期相互懷念，但卻消息不通，音容渺茫了。作者之所以將生死並提，除闡明題旨的作用之外，其目的還在於強調生者的悲思，所以，接下去立即出現“不思量，自難忘”這樣的詞句。“不思量”，實際上是以退為進，恰好用它來表明生者“自難忘”這種感情的深度。“千里孤墳，無處話淒涼”二句，馬上對此進行補充。闡明“自難忘”的實際內容。王氏死後葬于蘇軾故鄉眉山，所以自然要出現“千里孤墳”，兩地睽隔的後果，作者連到墳前奠祭的時機也難以得到。死者“淒涼”，生者心傷。“十年”，是漫長的時間；“千里”，是廣闊的空間。在這漫長廣闊的時間空間之中，又隔阻著難以逾越的生死之間的界限，作者又怎能不倍增“無處話淒涼”的感歎呢？時、空、生死這種種界限難以跨越，那只好乞諸于夢中相會了。以上四句為“記夢”作好了鋪墊。上段末三句筆鋒頓轉，以進為退，設想出縱使相逢卻不相識這一出人意外的後果。這三句有很大的含量，其中揉進了作者十年來宦海沉浮的痛苦遭際，揉進了對亡妻長期懷念的精神折磨，揉進十年的歲月與體態的衰老。設想；即使突破了時、空與生死的界限，生者死者得以仍然“相逢”， 但相逢時恐怕對方也難以“相識”了。因為十年之後的作者已“塵滿面，鬢如霜”，形同老人了。這三句是從想像中的死者的反映方面，來襯托作者十年來所遭遇的不幸（包括反對新法而乞求外調出京的三年生活在內）和世事的巨大變化。

下段寫夢境的突然出現：“夜來幽夢忽還鄉”。就全詞來講。本篇的確是真情鬱勃，句句沉痛，而此句則悲中寓喜。“小軒窗，正梳妝”，以鮮明的形象對上句加以補充，從而使夢境更帶有真實感。仿佛新婚時，作者在王氏身旁，眼看她沐浴晨光對鏡理妝時的神情儀態，心裏滿是蜜意柔情。然而，緊接著詞筆由喜轉悲。“相顧無言，惟有淚千行。”這兩句上應“千里 孤墳”兩句，如今得以“還鄉”，本該是盡情“話淒涼”之時，然而，心中的千言萬語卻一時不知從哪里說起，只好“相顧無言”，一任淚水湧流。這五句是詞的主題：“記夢”。正由於夢境虛幻，所以詞的意境也不免有些迷離惝恍，作者不可能而且也用不著去盡情描 述。這樣，反而可以給讀者留有想像的空間。結尾三句是夢後的感歎，同時也是對死者的慰安。如果聯繫開篇的“十年”，再加上無限期的“年年”，那麼，作者對亡妻的懷戀，不就是“此恨綿綿無絕期”了麼？本篇在藝術上值得注意的特點之一便是直抒胸臆，感情真摯。由於作者對亡妻懷有極其深厚的情感，所以即使在對方去世十年之後，作者還幻想在夢中相逢。並且通過夢境（或與夢境相關的部分）來酣暢淋漓地抒寫自己的真情實感，既無避忌，又不隱晦。“不 思量，自難忘”，“無處話淒涼”，“相顧無言，惟有淚千行”等句，都反映了直抒胸臆與吐屬自然這樣的特點。另一特點是想像豐富、構思精巧。作者從漫長的時間與廣闊的空間之中來馳騁自己的想像，並把過去，眼前，夢境與未來融為統一的藝術整體，緊緊圍繞“思量”、“難忘”四 字展開描寫。全詞組織嚴密，一氣呵成，但又曲折跌宕，波瀾起伏。上片八句寫夢前的憶念及感情上的起伏，下片前五句寫夢中的悲喜，末三句述夢後的喟歎。情節，有起有伏；用筆，有進有退，感情，有悲有喜；極盡曲折變化之能事。再一特點是語言爽快，純系白描。由於這是一首抒寫真情實感的詞作，語言也極其樸素自然，真情實境．明白如話，毫無雕琢的痕跡。這樣質樸的語言又與不同的句式（三、四、五、七言）的交錯使用相結合，使這首詞既俊爽而又音響淒厲，恰當地表現出作者心潮激蕩、勃鬱不平的思想感情。具有一種古詩和律詩所難以產生的內在的節奏感和扣人心弦的藝術魅力。

唐五代及北宋描寫婦女的詞篇，多數境界狹窄，詞語塵下。蘇軾此詞境界開闊，感情純真，品格高尚，讀來使人耳目一新。用詞來悼亡，是蘇軾首創。在擴大詞的題材，在豐富詞的表現力方面，本篇應佔有一定的地位。

晏殊（９９１－１０５５），北宋詞人。字同叔，撫州臨川（今屬江西）人。景德 中賜同進士出身。慶歷中官至集賢殿大學士、同中書門下平章事兼淑密使。謚元獻 。其詞擅長小令，多表現詩酒生活和悠閒情致，語言婉麗，頗受南唐馮延已的影響 。《浣溪沙》中“無可奉告花落去，似曾相似燕歸來”二句，傳誦頗廣。原有集， 已散佚，僅存《珠玉詞》及清人所輯《晏元獻遺文》。又編有類書《類要》，今存
